Mary Etta Miller, 88

Mary Etta Miller, 88, of Marysville, Kan., died June 29, 1999, at Cambridge Nursing Home in Marysville, Kan.

Services were Saturday, July 3, at the First Christian Church in Marysville, Kan. Reverend Emerson Gillett officiated.

Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Hebron.

Mary Etta Miller was born April 10, 1911, to Albert and Lillian (Yale) Corliss, 30 miles NW of Burlington, Colo.

She moved to Hebron as a small child. She attended Country School District #23 and then Hebron High School where she graduated in 1929.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, Eastern Star and P.E.O. Elder Emertus at the church, Literary Searchlight, RSVP and Investment Club 15.

On July 16, 1933, she married Jack Miller in Belvidere. In 1952, they left Hebron and moved to Marysville, Kan., where they owned and operated the Shoe Box Shoe Store.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard (Dick) and Darlene Miller of Eudora, Kan.; and William (Bill) and Connie Miller of Arlington; two brothers, Ed Corliss of Kersey, Colo. And Ralph Corliss of Arizona City, Ariz.; two sisters, Myrna Mach of Sun City Ariz. and Pauline Williams of Hebron; two grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.

She is preceded in death by her husband, who died June 15, 1989; and four brothers, Joe, Sherman, Harold and Frank Corliss.

Memorials may be sent to the Meadowlark Hospice or First Christian Church in Marysville, Kan.

Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville, Kan. Was in charge of arrangements.
