Meril Kenneth Miller, 84

Meril Kenneth Miller, 84, of Blair, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 1999, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

Services were Saturday, Oct. 23, at Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon, Iowa.

Meril Kenneth Miller was born Dec. 8, 1914, to William and Rose Glady (Sutton) Miller in Manilla, Iowa.

He was baptized in the river by the Christian Church minister in Audubon, Iowa. He attended Audubon Community Schools, and worked at various jobs throughout the Audubon, Iowa, area.

On Feb. 17, 1956, he married Bonnie Sawin Baker at the Federated Church in Oto, Iowa.

Miller was employed by Ray Anderson Oldsmobile as a body and fender repairman. He later worked for Les Larsen, then Fred Searls as a body and fender repairman. He was employed as parts man for Franck Brothers until he moved to California in 1969. He then worked as a crossing guard for the City of Roseville until he retired.

His wife died Feb. 17, 1986. He moved to Blair in April of 1996, and became a resident of Crowell Memorial Home on Oct. 11, 1999.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for many years in California.

He is survived by his stepchildren, Nancy and Richard Goeken of Blair; Richard and Judy Baker of Granite Bay, Calif.; and Steven and Celeste Baker of Chico, Calif.; eleven grandchildren, Jeffrey Goeken and Neil Goeken, both of Blair; Kathleen Goeken of Lincoln; Christopher and Erika Baker of Citrus Heights, Calif.; Kristoffer Couturier of Chico, Calif.; Nicholas Courtuier of Tempe, Ariz.; Bonnie Baker of Eugene, Ore.; Shane Baker, Bryce Baker and Darcie Baker, all of Chico, Calif.; two great-grandchildren, Dustin Goeken of Blair; and Lauren Paige Baker of Citrus Heights, Calif.; nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Marjorie Miller, and Harvey and Zella Miller.
