Mrs. Mette Miller Dies At Age of 93

Mrs. Mette Marie Miller passed away early Wednesday morning, January 12th at the Blair Community Hospital, where she has been since Sunday morning. She became ill last Thanksgiving.

She was born January 10th, 1873 in Agger, Jutland, Denmark to Mr. and Mrs. Niels C. Pedersen. On July 11th, 1892 she was married to Soren G. Miller. They and their family came to the United States February 22, 1905 and lived north of Fremont for three years before coming to Washington County where they were engaged in farming. Mr. Miller passed away in October, 1944 and Mrs. Miller made her home in Blair for over 30 years.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Calle Hansen (Cecilia) of Blair, Mrs. Christine Sydow of Lyons, Mrs. Pete Hagge (Rosina) of Blair, and a son Niels Miller of Herman. A son Chris died in 1957. There are also 17 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Bendorf Funeral Home, at 2 P.M. on Saturday, January 15th. The Rev. George Pallesen of the First Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.
