Winnifred C. Dein, 87, died Thursday, April 9, 2009, at her home near Blair, surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Allen Cemetery.

Winnifred C. Sachs was born Oct. 19, 1921, in Waterloo to Charles S. and Elsie (Sorensen) Sachs. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church in Omaha. She graduated from Underwood High School in Omaha in 1939. She worked for Father Edward Flanagan at Boys Town, and also at Union Pacific Railroad.

On Sept. 12, 1943, she married Larry T. Dein.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Lois Dein and Jim and Denise Dein; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynda and Randy Truhlsen and Patty and Sam Wright, all of Blair; grandchildren, Kolby and Michelle Dein of Helena, Mont.; Jeremy Dein, Joshua Dein, Jack Dein, Waylon Wright and Stephanie, Bree Wright and Katie Truhlsen; one great-granddaughter, Reilly, all of Blair; sister, Donna Seevers of Omaha; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry, in February of 1990; three brothers, Howard, Glenn and Robert Sachs; two sisters, Carole Sheets and Charlyn Bochek.
