Alice M. Delaney, 87, of Fremont, died Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at the Fremont Area Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 9, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.

A Rosary is planned for 8 p.m. Friday, July 8, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday, with the family receiving friends between 6:30 and 8 p.m. Visitation will also be held at the church on Saturday, one hour prior to services.

Alice M. Delaney was born Sept. 17, 1917, at the Haney farm, east of Fremont, to George and Elizabeth (Eicke) Haney. She was a lifelong resident of the Fremont area.

She graduated in 1936 from Arlington High School. On April 4, 1942, she married John J. Delaney at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont. After her marriage, the couple farmed east of Fremont. Mrs. Delaney also worked at the former Rank’s Department Store in Fremont during the late 1960s and early 1970s.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and was an Extension Club member for several years.

She is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey Delaney, Thomas and Linda Delaney, and Jerome S. and Patti Delaney, all of Fremont; daughter, Kathleen Fager of Lincoln; daughter-in-law, Barbara Delaney of Fremont; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Lillian and Ron Duncan of Spring Valley, Calif.; three sisters-in-law, Ellen Haney, Clara Haney, and Faye Haney, all of Fremont.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 1999; two sons, John W. “Jackie” and Douglas Delaney; three brothers, George I., James and Floyd Haney; and three sisters, Mary Hoffman, Vera and Laura Haney.

Memorials are suggested to Calvary Cemetery.
