JOHN J. DELANEY, 85

John J. Delaney, 87, of Fremont, died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, at his home.

Services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont. Father Owen Korte will officiate. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Fremont.

John J. Delaney was born June 18, 1914, to John and Jessie (Charleston) Delaney in rural Fremont.

He attended the Diers School through fourth grade and then moved to Wyoming. He returned to Fremont two years later and attended Partial Lake Country School. He then moved to Turin, Iowa, and farmed there until 1934 when he moved to Omaha.

In 1935, he came to Fremont and hauled grain and gravel for some time and also farmed in the Fremont area. He had been a farmer for more than 70 years and was also a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont.

On April 14, 1942, he married Alice (Haney) Delaney in Fremont. They lived on a farm east of Fremont.

He is survived by his wife, Alice; four sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Barbara Delaney; Jeffrey Delaney; Thomas and Linda Delaney; and Jerome and Patti Delaney, all of Fremont; one daughter, Kathleen ………… (The rest of the article is missing.)
