C. Wayne Miller, 93

C. Wayne Miller, 93, of Herman died Monday, Nov. 3 1997 at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Services were Friday at the Herman Federated Church. Rev. David C. Masten officiated. Burial was in the Herman Cemetery.

Mr. Miller was born July 14, 1904, on a farm in rural Logan, Iowa, the third of six sons and one daughter, to Charles and Anna (Clark) Miller. On Nov., 28, 1931, he married Florence E. Chambers at Fremont. They lived in the same home in Herman for 48 years. He owned and operated Miller Garage, an automotive service business for 32 years.

He was a member of the Herman Federated Church.

Survivors are his wife, Florence, who resides at the Tekamah Nursing Center; a son and daughter-in-law, Edward Raymond and Nancy Miller of Cleveland, Ohio; a sister, Alice White of Scottsdale, Arizona; three grandchildren, Laura K. Nixon of Chicago, Ill.; David M. Miller of Cleveland; Thomas G. Miller of Denver, Colo.; and a great-granddaughter, Brittany Nicole Lambert of Chicago.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1919; his mother in 1950; and brothers, John, Lloyd, Raymond, David and Peter.

Casket bearers were Phillip Martens, David Miller, James Martens, Dick Sheets, Richard Thompson and Ernest Alexander.

Honorary casket bearers were Terry Andrew, Frank Korshoj, William Chambers, Robert Chambers, Carl Sproul, C. E. White, E. J. Stutzman and Howard Laughlin.

Gertrude Sells was organist. Diane Sheets was vocalist.

Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah was in charge of arrangements.
