William Leslie “Les” Miller, 84

William Leslie Miller, 84, of Blair, died Thursday, Dec. 2, 1999, at Crowell Home.

The family will be receiving visitors from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, 1999, at the funeral home. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 1999, at First Christian Church. Burial will be in the Blair cemetery.

William Leslie “Les” Miller was born Oct. 13, 1915 to Levi and Lodema (Myler) Miller in Woodbine, Iowa.

On May 22, 1935, he married Madeline Burbank in Logan, Iowa. He was a veteran of World War II. Prior to entering the army in 1945, he was an automotive instructor at Ft. Crook. He did mechanical work for several different businesses before retiring in 1976.

He was baptized at the First Christian Church in 1962 and taught Sunday School for many years, and was an Elder Emeritus.

He was active in the Blair Eagles and was a 30 year member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Madeline; two sons and daughter-in-law, Les and Jan Miller of Blair and George and Pat Miller of Omaha; one daughter and son-in-law, Leota and Bill Cowan of Guernsey, Wyo.; sister and brother-in-law, Dolly and Milford Smith of Missouri Valley, Iowa; sister-in-law, Betty Burbank of Missouri Valley, Iowa; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
