Services for Duane F. Denison, 69 of Arlington who died September 23, 1993 at A. J. Merrick Manor in Fremont were Monday, September 27 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. Rev. David Loeschen officiated. Burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery east of Winslow. Military graveside services were conducted by members of American Legion Post No. 71 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8332 of Arlington.

Duane F. Denison was born July 7, 1924 at rural Hooper. He grew up near Hooper and graduated from Hooper High School in 1941.

He worked on a farm near Hooper until entering the United States Army in 1945 during World War II during which he served in Germany.

After his discharge he moved to Fremont and later to Winslow. He returned to Fremont in 1953, moving to Arlington in 1962.

He had worked at the American Hatchery in Fremont and Farmers Union in Winslow. In 1953 he started work at George A. Hormel & Co. in Fremont where he was a bookkeeper until 1977. He then sold Mooremans Feed from 1977 to 1982 when he retired.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont and the Lutheran Laymans League. He was a member and past commander of American Legion Post No. 71 at Arlington and a former member of the Spinning Wheels Square Dance Club.

He married Marlene Pawling November 7, 1945 at Trinity Lutheran Church at Fremont.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Olga Hartung Denison; a sister, Julia Penney; and a brother, Bill Denison.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene; four sons, Douglas of Waverly; Rodney of Albion; Roger of Arlington; and Gary of Fremont; a daughter, Juanita (Mrs. Greg) Benne of Fremont; and ten grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Robert Denison, Chad Denison, Darin Denison, Steve Pawling, Tim Pawling, Clark Moseman, Michael Moseman and Dan Denison.

Elaine Beyers was organist. Rev. Donald Levenhagen was soloist.

Memorials may go to the church, Lutheran Laymans League or Huntingtons Disease Foundation.

Moser Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
