ROGER L. DENISON, 54

Roger L. Denison, 54 of Arlington, died Monday, May 29, 2006, at the Valhaven Nursing Center in Valley.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 3, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. A private interment will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, east of Winslow.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 2 at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington, with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Visitation will also be held Saturday at the church, one hour prior to services.

Roger L. Denison was born Aug. 28, 1951 in Fremont to Duane and Arlene (Pawling) Denison. He grew up in Arlington and was a 1969 graduate of Arlington High School.

He moved to Lincoln and attended the Lincoln School of Commerce for two years. He later lived in the Lansing, Kan., area where he worked as an accountant. He then moved to Fremont and then to Arlington in 1999. He was an accountant for several firms until he became self-employed; he retired in 1993.

Mr. Denison was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

On Oct. 27, 1972, he married Kathy Arp at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The couple later divorced.

He is survived by a son, Nathan Wirsen of Kennard; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Doug and Marlene Denison of Lincoln; Rodney Denison of Columbus; and Gary and Sheryl Denison of Arlington; and a sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Greg Benne of Fremont.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the Huntington’s Foundation.

The funeral for Roger L. Denison, 54, of Arlington will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north of Arlington.

He died Monday, May 29, 2006 at Valhaven Nursing Center in Valley.

He was born Aug. 28, 1951 in Fremont to Duane and Arlene (Pawling) Denison. He grew up in Arlington and was a 1969 graduate of Arlington High School. He moved to Lincoln and attended Lincoln School of Commerce for two years. He lived in the Lansing, Kan, area and worked as an accountant. He moved to Fremont and then to Arlington in 1999. He married Kathy Arp on Oct. 27, 1972 in rural Arlington. They later divorced.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Survivors include: a son, Nathan Wirsen of Kennard; three brothers, Doug (and wife, Marlene) Denison of Lincoln, Rodney Denison of Columbus and Gary (and wife, Sheryl) Denison of Arlington; and a sister, Juanita(and husband, Greg) Benne of Fremont.

The Rev. Rick Kanoy will officiate Saturday’s service. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Friday at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington, with family receiving friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time at the church. Private burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery east of Winslow.

Memorials have been established to the church at to the Huntington’s Foundation.
