| Mrs. J.L. Hyde died at her home near the west school building at about noon last Saturday of old age, having been ill for some time. The funeral was held at the house at 1 o’clock yesterday afternoon, Rev. A. Theo. Schultz officiating.
Marie Fries was born in Denmark April 11th, 1841, and was, therefore, almost 79 years of age. She was married in Denmark and one daughter was married and still lives over there. They came here in 1884 and settled first in Illinois and later at Gordon, Neb., coming to this city three years ago. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. L. Kirkegaard, of this city, and one son, John, who lives at Newman, Ill.
