ORVILLE DENNY, 69

Orville Jackson Denny, 69, of Murphysboro, Missouri, died Friday, July 10, 1987, at St. Francis Medical Center, Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Private services were held Monday in Ava, Missouri, and burial followed in College Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Missouri.

Denny was the nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Chris K. Bendorf. He made his home with them while attending Blair High School and Dana College.

He was a member of the Blair Methodist Church.

Denny had been a funeral director, owning and operating the Meyer-Denny Funeral Home in Murphysboro from 1949 – 71.

He served as an Air Force Staff Sergeant during World War II.

He was born June 9, 1918, in Marshall, Minnestoa, to William and Celia Denny. He married Marjorie Koebel in 1943. She survives.

Other survivors include one son, Curtis Denny of Antioch, Missouri; one daughter, La Celia Anderson of Murphysboro; three brothers, Gerald and James, both of Eugene, Oregon, and Julian of Portland, Oregon; two sisters, Mary Ann Myers of Portland, and Julienne Sunne of Baudette, Minnesota, and four grandchildren.
