Betty Neet, 73

Funeral services for Betty Neet, 73, of Kennard, were held Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002, at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard. Interment was in the Kennard Cemetery. Mrs. Neet died Friday, Dec. 28, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

Betty J. Neet was born June 1, 1928 in Crete to Ross and Minnie (Yant) Cookus. She attended school in Beatrice, and married Archie Neet on Feb. 25, 1947, in Beatrice.

The couple moved to Kennard in 1965. She was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church, card clubs, and the Kennard Fireman’s Auxiliary.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Frank Schulkey of Kennard, Jane and Dr. Melvin Canell of North Platte, son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Pam Neet of Long Prairie, Minn., five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren, numerous foster grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Archie, one great-grandson, Brandon Schulkey, 13 brothers and a sister.

VISITATION will begin 1-5 Mon. and 1-8 pm Tues. at the Funeral Home.
