PETE JESSEN DIES IN WEST

EX-FARMER HERE DIES IN WASHINGTON; WIFE, FOUR CHILDREN SURVIVE

Word has been received here of the death last Thursday at Camas, Wash., of J.P. (Pete) Jessen, onetime Blairite. He was 70 years old.

Born in Moen, Denmark, Dec. 5, 1882, Jens Peter Jessen came to Omaha in 1903 and was a dairyman there 20 years. In 1905 he and Marie Jensen of Denmark were married. She died four years later and in 1919 he was married to Metha Petersen of Omaha.

In 1932 the Jessen family moved from Omaha to a bottomland farm near Herman and for nine years lived on the farm now owned by Herman Petersen. In 1941 the Jessens moved to Sioux Rapids, Ia., and later went to Camas, Wash.

Mr. Jessen is survived by his wife, Metha; two sons, the Rev. Werner Jessen of Camas, Wash., a Lutheran pastor, and Russell Jessen, an Army warrant officer in Korea; and two daughters, Mrs. Roy Larsen (Edna) of Denver and Miss Mary Jane Jessen, now a parish deaconess at University Lutheran Church in ?

Four grandchildren in Seattle, Wash. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Anna Christensen of Wessington Springs, S.D. and a brother, Louis Jessen of Omaha.
