WELL-KNOWN FT. CALHOUN MAN BURIED SUNDAY; FOUR CHILDREN SURVIVE

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian church for Hans Kay, 82, well-known resident of that vicinity for many years.

Surviving Mr. Kay are two daughters, Mrs. Chris Anderson of Herman and Mrs. Lloyd Walker of Omaha; two sons, William Kay and Hans Kay, jr., both of Fort Calhoun; and a sister, Mrs. Caroline Olerich of Gretna.

HANS KAY DIES AT 81 YEARS OF AGE

Hans Kay was born on March 12, 1864 in Hohenfelde, Germany, and died at his home in Fort Calhoun on January 25, 1946.

At the age of 21 he dame to America with his parents and settled in this vicinity.

He managed the lumber yard here for about thirty five years, and then joined his two sons in the fruit business. He was active in that work until a few months ago.

He was married to Helena Pfeiffer and to this union eight children were born, four of whom survive him: Mrs. Chris Andersen of Herman; Mrs. Lloyd Walker of Omaha; William and Hans Kay of Fort Calhoun. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Caroline Olerich of Gretna, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
