Ellen Epperson, 85, of Valley, died Sunday, July 13, 2014, at Valhaven Nursing home in Valley.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 17, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Interment will be in the Herman Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Ellen Sheets was born Dec. 4, 1928, in Blair, to Floyd and Grace (King) Sheets.
She attended and graduated from Herman High School and then Clarkson School of Nursing. She worked for several years as a nurse at Immanuel Hospital and Maple Crest Nursing Home.
She lived and raised her four children in Omaha. Upon retirement, she moved to Blair with her husband, Dale Epperson. After Mr. Epperson’s death, she lived in the Valley area.
She is survived by her children: daughter Mindy (Jim) Hightower of Valley, son Jeff Epperson of Omaha, daughter Shelly Bumpus of Omaha and daughter Kristy (Don) Kelly of Omaha; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Dick (Marge) Sheets of Tekamah, Grace (Walt) Mitchell of Fremont, Donna (Roy) Schafer of Fremont, Lela Thompsen of Herman and Becky Sheets of California.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Larry Dale Epperson; and brothers-in-law Richard and Floyd.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
