Norman C. Misfeldt, 75, of Arlington died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at the Campbell-Aman Funeral Chapel.

Burial will be in the Kennard Cemetery.

Norman C. Misfeldt was born Feb. 1, 1923, in Blair to Charles and Helena (Rasmussen) Misfeldt.

He grew up in Washington. He attended Bennington High School and graduated from there in 1940.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 6-12 Engineers at the Battle of the Bulge.

After the war, he married Dorothy (Lautrup) Specht on Dec. 22, 1946, in Hiawatha, Kan.

The couple moved to the Arlington area where they farmed.

He retired and moved into Arlington in 1987.

He was a life member of the Kennard American Legion, 40 et 8 and the Blair Eagles.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gordon and Joan Specht of Columbus and Stanley and Lois Misfeldt of Arlington; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Colin Moon of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter, Phyllis McGonigle of Phoenix; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Alice Byers of Kennard, Henrietta McCandless of Bellevue, Marjorie Grenier of Casper, Wyo., Gene Quick of Alpine, Wyo., and Mary Lou Jessen of Douglas, Wyo., and Mary Lou Jessen of Douglas, Wyo.; and one brother, Melvin “Red” Misfeldt of Arlington.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; and one brother.

Memorials may be directed to the Arlington Baseball Improvement Fund at Two Rivers State Bank in Arlington.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
