Services for Maude Misfeldt

Funeral services for Maude Virginia Misfeldt were held Monday, Nov. 5, at the First United Methodist Church in Blair. Rev. John Ewton officiated, with Clare Cowing providing music. Burial was at Blair Cemetery.

Maude was born June 3, 1891 to Jeff and Emma Rosenbaum. She was raised and educated in the Nebraska School system. She was a teacher before her marriage to William T. Misfeldt on June 19, 1912 in Blair. They made their home in Washington and Wayne counties in Nebraska until moving to Denver in 1956. William preceded her in death July 12, 1975. She died Oct. 31 in Denver at age 93.

Maude was a Past Worthy Matron, a 50-year member of the Faithful Chapter No. 165, Order of the Eastern Star at Winside, Neb., and a member of the First Avenue Presbyterian Church in Denver.

A mother of four, Maude’s selflessness to her family and others gained her the respect of all who knew her. She gave these qualities to her children, who call her life an example of Proverb 31:28, “Her children arise up, and call her blessed.”

Survivors include her daughters Mrs. Neal (Marjorie) Grubb of Lincoln and Mrs. Kenneth (Virginia) Myers of Denver, sons Donald L. Misfeldt of Waterloo and William D. Misfeldt of Rockville, Maryland, sister, Josephine Thompson of Winside, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers.

Pallbearers were Dale D. Anderson, David Gahl, Robert Plugge, Bill Plugge, Clifford Wulf and Jon Grubb.
