Fred H. Miska Died At Kennard

Fred H. Miska, 63-year-old Kennard man, died at his home there Friday, September 24th.

Mr. Miska was born at Ord, Nebraska November 23, 1902 and he grew to manhood in that area. He was married to Miss Gladys Black on June 25, 1930 at Grand Island and the couple farmed in the Ord and Albion area for 15 years.

In 1945 they moved to Washington County and settled near Kennard, and they have lived there for the past twenty years.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys; by a daughter, Mrs. Romona Marquardt, of Nickerson; and by a son, Fred F. Miska, of Lincoln. A niece, Susan Flock, who makes her home with the Miskas, also survives.

Two brothers, Ed of Los Angeles and Wesley, of Loup City, are among the survivors. There are four sisters. They are Mrs. Eva Woods, or Ord; Mrs. Agnes Jensen, of Omaha; Mrs. Emma Alderman of Bennington, and Mrs. Edith Brown, of Phoenix, Arizona.

Mr. Miska was a member of the Arlington Methodist Church and funeral services were held there Monday afternoon with the Reckmeyer Funeral Home in charge. Pastor E. Phil Dubbf, of Fremont, was in charge of the service. He was assisted by Curtis Cook, of Arlington, as Lay Minister. Pallbearers were Harry Husk, Dave Warrick, Stanley Kerstetter and Walter Plugge, all of Kennard, Homer Miller and Lawrence Laaker of Arlington.

Burial was made in the Fremont Memorial Cemetery. Memorials were requested for the Retarded Children’s Foundation.
