James Allan Mitchell, 38

James A. Mitchell, age 38, of Tekamah, died early Tuesday morning, January 24, 1989 at his Tekamah home. Jim was born on September 28th, 1950 at Winnebago to Calvin J. and Mary Lou (Dinkins) Mitchell. He graduated from Tekamah High School in 1969 and served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1970-1974. He was stationed in Guam for a portion of that time. He was a member of Craig American Legion Post No. 127 at Craig, Nebraska. At the time of his death, he was employed as a mechanic at Snow’s Service in Tekamah.

Survivors include two children, Jamie Mitchell and Jason Mitchell, both of Tekamah; his mother, Mary Lou Mitchell of Craig; three brothers, Art Mitchell of Craig, Joseph Mitchell and Donald Mitchell, both of Avondale, Arizona; three sisters, Kathy Mitchell of Tekamah, Linda Harold of Craig, and Carol Mitchell of Wichita, Kansas; nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Calvin J. Mitchell on January 26, 1984, and one brother, David Mitchell in infancy.

Funeral services were Friday, January 27 at the Hamel & Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah with Rev. Dr. Hal Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Tekamah Cemetery with graveside Military Rites by Craig American Legion Post No. 127.
