Former Kennard Veterinarian Died In Omaha

Dr. Clarence E. Mock, remembered by many as a veterinarian at Kennard and Craig for many years, was buried in Omaha this week (this is wrong as he is in Kennard).

Dr. Mock who was 85 years old, was born in Bates County Missouri June 3, 1884. He died March 12th in Omaha. He was a graduate of the Kansas City Veterinary College in 1915.

Dr. Mock was married to Marguerite Ellen Denton at Billings, Montana in 1916. Mrs. Mock died in July of 1953. He was the father of five children, all of whom survive. They are Mrs. Catherine Elizabeth Andrew, Herman, Frances Jean Pastory, of Omaha, Marguerite Ellen Carlson, also of Omaha and two sons, Clarence Everett Mock, of Tekamah and Robert Chester Mock of Sutherlin, Oregon. There are 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

While operating his practice at Ulysses, Nebraska, he was President of the Board of Education, active in the I.O.O.F. and a member of the Methodist Church. He was again a member of the school board while living in Kennard.

In addition to his practice as a veterinarian, he was also a Federal Meat and Poultry Inspector for a period of ten years. He had made his home for the past 20 years at Nebraska City.

Services were held from the Kremer Funeral Home in Omaha, March 15th.
