Tribune May 1911 Mrs. Carl Moeller.

Another one of those dear, loveable, German mothers has joined her loved ones in the better world. Twenty-eight years ago Great-Grandmother Moeller with her husband and four children, came from Germany to join her other daughter, Mrs. Hans Schwager here in Ft. Calhoun. They bought a little home, where Henry Gherke now lives, and her husband opened a shoe shop, where one daughter died later. Her son, John, bought a farm west of town, where the old people made their home until the father died some years ago, and when her son moved to Ashland this year she remained at Hans Schwagers, where she died May 11, 1911, aged 88 years, 3 months and 14 days and was buried beside her husband May 13. We have known her ever since the first hour she landed here and a more loveable, kind woman we seldom met. She leaves one son near Irvington, one in Portland, Ore., one near Ashland, one daughter in Omaha and Mrs. Schwager here, all married. She also leaves quite a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was married about 1864.

The funeral was from the house where she died, Rev. Otto of Omaha officiating. The choir were Mrs. Chas. Rathjen, Edith Seirk, Mrs. Benner and Mrs. Joe Bolln, with Mrs. McMillan at the organ. The pallbearers were six of her own grandsons from Omaha and Douglas county. Nearly all her Nebraska relatives were present, besides a large concourse of friends and neighbors with whom she had been a great favorite.

W. H. Woods.
