Samuel J. Moffatt, an old resident of this county near Herman, fell dead of heart failure last Friday at the home of his son near Spencer, Neb., and the body was brought here on the train from the west and taken to Herman for burial, Rev. F. M. Sturdevant went up and conducted a short service at the grave. Mrs. Clarence McCormick and Mrs. Hans Hansen, of this city are daughters and with their husbands accompanied the body to Herman. Mr. Moffatt was past 70 years of age and leaves eleven children.

The remains of S. J. Moffitt arrived from Spencer Sunday and were shipped to Herman Monday for interment. Mr. Moffit was a former resident of Herman and was the father of 13 children, 11 of whom are still living. Mrs. Hans Hansen and Mrs. Clarence McCormick of this city are among the daughters.
