Gladys C. Mogensen, 88

Former Omaha resident Gladys C. Mogensen, 88, died Feb. 1, 2002, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair. Funeral services were held Feb. 4, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Benson. Interment was at Hillcrest Cemetery in Omaha.

Gladys C. Mogensen was born June 12, 1913, at Spiker-Herman to Edward and Laura Holstein.

She married Carl V. Mogensen on Sept. 12, 1935, in Omaha. The couple lived in Omaha until moving to Crowell Memorial Home in July, 2001.

Mrs. Mogensen was a homemaker, loved to cook and work with flowers. She was a long-time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Benson.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Carl five brothers, Raymond Holstein of Alta, Iowa, Don Holstein of Blair, Walter Holstein of Mountain Home, Ark., Marvin Holstein of Early, Iowa, and Roger Holstein of Phoenix, Ariz., a sister, Phyllis Bruns of Alta, and 26 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene and Chris, a sister, Ethel Van DeVenter, a baby sister, two nieces and one nephew.
