Robert “Bob” Saunders, 77, of Norfolk, died Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation and Care Center in Norfolk.

Services will be 10 a.m Friday, July 18, at the Home for Funerals in Norfolk. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Council Bluff, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Home for Funerals.

Robert “Bob” Saunders was born Feb. 19, 1937, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Bill and Cloa (Harris) Saunders.

He was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs.

On Jan. 15, 1980, he married Vicki Overgard in Council Bluffs. They moved to Norfolk in 1985.

He was a salesman for Meadow Gold Dairy for 52 years and was associated with Affiliated Foods from 1985 until his retirement in 2013.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki, of Norfolk; three children and their spouses: Lori and Steve Halsey of Blair, Robert and Kelly Saunders of Council Bluffs and Stuart and Erin Saunders of Lincoln; three grandchildren: Matthew Saunders, Kelley and Ashley Halsey and Lynn Halsey; and one great-grandson, Dylan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Brenda Halsey.

Funeral Services will be 10am, Friday, July 18, 2014, at the Home for Funerals in Norfolk. Reverend Chip Winters will officiate and burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Council Bluffs, IA. Visitation will be Thursday, July 17, from 4-7 pm at the Home for Funerals.
