Elvera Helen (Lamprecht) Mohr was born Dec. 6, 1930 on a farm near Gretna to Henry and Emma (Neuhaus) Lamprecht.

As a child, Mrs. Mohr remembered moving a lot, living and attending grade school in Gretna, South Omaha, and Arlington. Some of her memories of childhood included the chimney catching fire and her father and brothers using milk to extinguish the fire; the annual German “Children’s Day,” and staying with relatives. She spent time helping on the family farm and baby-sitting he nieces and nephews. At age 13, she was forced to quit school and take care of her mother.

She met her husband, Glen Mohr, at a wedding dance in Bennington shortly after he had returned from the service. On Aug. 5, 1950, she married Glen Mohr at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Benson. The couple lived all of their married life on a farm east of Bennington.

Mrs. Mohr was a homemaker who loved dancing to the Bishop Band, collecting dolls, playing cards and threshing bees. She loved to decorate for the holidays. But her greatest joy was to care for her family, from the early days with her mother to the present day love of her children and grandchildren. Her commitment and mentoring spanned four generations of her family.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Club, Couples Pinochle Club, V.F.W. Auxiliary, Camp Creek Threshers, Carstens Farmstead Inc., Shelby, Iowa, Eagles Aerie 154, German American Society and the Foresters.

She is survived by her husband, Glen, two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Scott Albright, Deanna and Steve Hansen, all of Omaha, two sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Marlene Mohr of Elk City and David and Jamie Mohr of Kennard, seven grandchildren, and a brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Georgia Lamprecht of Onawa, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Susan Kay, a sister, Grace Dietz, and brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Frieda Lamprecht.

Memorials are suggested to the family or the donor’s choice.

Haden Golden Reichmuth Funeral Home of Bennington was in charge of arrangements.
