Memorial services for Howard James Nelsen, 62, of Portland, Oregon, who passed away Friday, May 15, 1987, were held Monday, May 18.

Nelsen was born August 26, 1924, at Herman, the son of Laura and Herman Nelsen.

He grew up in Washington County until moving to Longview, Washington, with his parents in 1940.

He was the grandson of Ida and J.P. Larsen.

Nelsen married Marjorie Ann Lusk, May 1, 1946.

Survivors include his wife Marjorie, two sons, Dennis and Gene; four grandchildren and one brother, Harold Nelsen of Castle Rock, Washington and one aunt, Matta Larsen of Blair.
