Rose C. Nelsen, 97

Former Washington County area resident Rose C. (Puls) Nelsen, 97, of Los Gatos, Calif., died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006, after a brief illness.

Private family services will be held at the graveside on Friday, Nov. 17. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at Faith Lutheran Church in Los Gatos.

Rose Caroline Puls Nelsen was born Sept. 20, 1909. She lived near Bennington.

She and her husband, Howard E. Nelsen, moved to San Francisco, Calif., in 1935. Mrs. Nelsen had a job transfer.

They later moved to Los Gatos where they owned and operated two service stations.

They were both very active in community and service organizations, and both chaired many committees in their church.

Mrs. Nelsen is survived by her son, Douglas Nelsen of Gilroy, Calif., and a daughter, Virginia Frank of San Jose, Calif.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to Howard and Rose Nelsen Memorial Fund at Faith Lutheran Church of Los Gatos.
