Services Are on Tuesday For Alfred Nelson

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, at First Lutheran Church for Alfred Nelson, 94, who died at Good Shepherd Home on December 26, 1982.

The Rev. Carl Schattauer, Jr., will conduct the services. Burial will be in Kennard Cemetery.

Alfred Nelson was born July 16, 1888, in Washington County to Soren Peter and Elizabeth Petersen Nielsen*. He married Agnes Lauritsen on August 4, 1954, in Blair.

He started farming in Washington County and later did threshing for people with his own threshing machine. In 1925, he went to work for Korshoj Lumber Company in Herman where he worked until retiring in 1947. He then moved to Blair and did carpenter work, building cabinets and enclosing porches.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Agnes, of Blair.

Pallbearers will be Earl Korshoj, Frank Korshoj, Ray Korshoj, Leonard Taylor, Howard Laughlin and Gene Megrue.

*Parents’ name spelled Nielsen in obituary.

Services Held Wednesday for Alfred Nelson

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 29, at First Lutheran Church for Alfred Nelson, 94, who died at Good Shepherd Home on December 26, 1982.

Campbell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for the services.
