Arthur Leonard Nelson, 85, of Valley, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

Services were Saturday, Jan. 8, at Valley Methodist Church. Burial was in the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Elkhorn.

Arthur Leonard Nelson was born Feb. 16, 1914 in Oakland. He worked as a farmer. He was a member of Victory Lodge 310, Herman Star 216 and Victory Chapter 288.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Nelson; four daughters and sons-in-law, Loretta and Robert Nedeck of Yankton, S.D.; Cheryl and Glenn O’Neill of Omaha; Connie and Dan Watts of North Bend; and Janet and Jerry Wolf of Lincoln; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Ida Nelson of Valley; two sisters, Harriet Byroad of Oakland; and Hazel Hultman of Omaha; a brother, Clarence Nelson of Fresno, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Reichmuth Funeral Home of Valley was in charge of arrangements.
