Donald F. Nelson, 65

Donald F. Nelson, 65, of Blair, died Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 19, at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Orum with burial immediately following.

Visitation with family present will be 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, and 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home. A prayer service is also slated for 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Donald F. Nelson was born on June 27, 1942, to Myrtle (Paulsen-Nelson-Lammers) and Harland Nelson. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1961. He served in the Air Force from 1961 to 1965, and graduated from Dana College in Blair in 1966.

On Feb. 20, 1970, he married Margaret Chromy at St. Charles Catholic Church in North Bend. He worked for Mutual of Omaha, Western Homes, Farm Bureau Insurance and retired as a pipe fitter from Waldinger Corporation in 1999.

He was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He served as president of the Lincoln Lutheran Cemetery Association of Orum. He was a member of Washington Lodge No. 21 and McKinley Chapter No. 161 OES in Blair.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; sons and daughters-in-law Eric Ethan and Leslie of Beaver Dam, Wis., and Joel Thomas and Michelle of Blair; brothers and sister-in-law, Roger A. and Donna of Blair and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials are suggested to the Lincoln Lutheran Cemetery Association of Orum or Immanuel Lutheran Church.
