Service held for Minnie Mohr in Bennington

Services were held Saturday, January 28, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bennington for Minnie Wilhelmine Berner Mohr who died January 26, 1984, at Crowell Memorial Home.

Dr. Norman E. Schroeder officiated. Burial in Mount Hope Cemetery at Omaha.

Minnie Wilhelmine Berner Mohr was born in Hamburg, Germany, December 27, 1896. She lived in a German community close to where the family of Ernest Mohr lived.

She was baptized in the Lutheran Church in Germany and confirmed her faith there in 1911. She became an active communing member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bennington.

She came to the United States in March, 1914, at the age of 18. In 1914, she married Ernest Mohr and they established themselves in farming in the Wranch School District, spending 40 years on the same farm. They retired and moved to Blair in 1955. She moved to Crowell Memorial Home several months ago.

She was a citizen of the Unites States.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest, who died January 5, 1972.

She is survived by twin sons, William Mohr and Robert Mohr; and one daughter, Helen, all of rural Omaha. One sister in Germany; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends also survive her.

Casket bearers were Albert Mohr, Gary Mohr, Larry Langdon, Edwin Malina, Steve Wiederspan and Paul Schneider.

Miram Sukraw was organist. Ken Sukraw was vocalist.

Hadan Golden Mortuary in Bennington was in charge of arrangements.
