#1-18 Oct., 1945 - The Enterprise

MRS. FRED MISFELDT DIED WED. NIGHT Mrs. Katherine Misfeldt, wife of Fred Misfeldt, residing south of Blair, died in the Methodist Hospital in Omaha at 9:12 Wednesday evening following an appendectomy. At her death she was 48 years of age.

She was married to Fred Misfeldt on November 24, 1915, and to them three children were born, all of whom, with her husband, survive. They are Mrs. Violet Johnson of Washington, this county; Willard at home, and Wayne who is serving his Country in the Philippines.

Besides the husband and children, deceased also is survived by three grandchildren, three sisters and four brothers.

As yet, no arrangements for the funeral have been made pending a message from the son in the Philippines.

DIED WEDNESDAY FOLLOWING OPERATION IN OMAHA HOSPITAL

Services for Mrs. Fred Misfeldt were held Sunday afternoon at the First Methodist Church in Kennard with the Rev. P.C. Jensen officiating. Interment was made in the German Cemetery.

Mrs. Misfeldt, 48, passed away unexpectedly at an Omaha hospital following an appendectomy last Wednesday night.

On November 24, 1915, she was united in marriage to Fred Misfeldt and to this union three children were born, Wayne, who is in the Philippines; Willard at home; and Mrs. Violet Johnson of Washington, Nebr.

Survivors include her husband, three children, three sisters, four brothers and three grandchildren.

Funeral rites for Mrs. Fred Misfeldt were held last Sunday in the Kennard Methodist church with Rev. P. C. Jensen of Blair officiating, and interment was made in the German Cemetery in the southern part of the county.

Katherine Lois Dierk was born in Douglas County near Bennington on January 24th, 1897, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Dierk. She grew to womanhood in the Bennington home, and on November 24th, 1915 she was wed to Fred Misfeldt. They went to farming immediately, and all their married life they continued on the farm.

The husband, two sons, one daughter and two grandchildren are left to mourn their great loss, besides four brothers and three sisters, and a host of friends who will miss her greatly.
