JOYCE MICKEL KING TAYLOR, 45

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 23 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont for Joyce King Taylor of Nickerson who died August 19, 1989 at University of Nebraska Medical Center from cancer. Rev. Eric Freeman of Community Christian Church is officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in Fremont.

Joyce Mickel King Taylor was born July 24, 1944 in Omaha. She grew up in Omaha, living there until 1965 when she moved to Blair. She moved to Fremont in 1978.

She worked for Dr. Knee in Blair for several years. She also worked at the Gas ā€˜nā€™ Shop and Taco Bell in Fremont. She did a lot of volunteer work at the Low Income Ministry in Fremont.

She married John W. Taylor December 17, 1977 at First Lutheran Church in Blair.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, James Mickel and John Mickel; and one grandson, Michael John King II.

She is survived by her husband, John; five sons, Richard King, Cedar Bluffs; Lloyd King, Timothy King and Edison King, all of Fremont; and Michael King, Nickerson; and one daughter, Cheryl Taylor of Nickerson. Her mother, Naomi Mickel of Chicago; father and step-mother, Jack and Lenora Mickel of Fremont; two brothers, Gerald Mickel, Chicago; and Jack Mickel, Jr., Hesperia, California; sisters, Mrs. David (Nancy) Bibbie, Newberg, Oregon; Mrs. David (Jacqulyn) Moore, Norfolk, Virginia; Mrs. Darrell (Jeanette) King, Blair; Mrs. Rick (Sally) Graham, Danville, Illinois; step-brother, Gary Brown, Meadow Grove, Nebraska; and step-sisters, Debbie Cattlett, Fremont; Sandra Mayer, Scottsbluff; and Barbara Rusinko, Fremont also survive her.

Honorary pallbearers are Darrell King, Mark King and Kirk Steele. Pallbearers are Ben Scherer, Darwin Bice, Cecil Weldon, Richard Osterloh, Elmer Melroy and Mike Prusia.

Moser Memorial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements for the services.
