META M. TAYLOR, 86

Meta M. Taylor, 86, of Fremont, died May 9, 1998, at the Arbor Manor Living Center in Fremont.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 12, at the Fremont Alliance Church. The Revs. Phil Ronzheimer and John Wirkes will officiate. Visitation will continue at the church Tuesday morning for an hour before the service.

Mrs. Taylor was born April 9, 1912, on a farm near Blair to Edward and Marie Hansen. She grew up on a farm near Orum. She attended Orum and Rosehill Schools and graduated from Blair High School in 1929. She taught school for two years.

On June 7, 1930, she married John Taylor in Denison, Iowa. John and Meta farmed northwest of Orum from 1931 through 1968. In January of 1969, they moved into Fremont.

During the years, she taught many Bible classes in Blair and Fremont. She was a member of the Fremont Alliance Church and active in the Christian Women’s Club.

She is survived by her husband, John, Sr.; four sons and three daughters-in –law, John and Pat Taylor, Jr., of Fremont; Robert and Pat Taylor of Fremont; Thomas Taylor of Fremont; and Timothy and Debbie Taylor of Princeton, Texas; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Janet and Gary Chubb of Dallas, Texas; Mary and Chuck Barrett of Denver; and Marie Cameron of Boise, Idaho; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Emma Hansen of Blair, Anna Toelke of Fort Calhoun and Esther Welliver of Omaha.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, two brothers and one sister.

Memorials are suggested to the “Back to the Bible” Broadcast in Lincoln and the Fremont Alliance Church.
