Howard Moll, 87

Former Washington County resident Howard Moll, 87, of Fremont, died Sept. 1, 2001, at Fremont Area Medical Center.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Hooper, with the Rev. Rodney Meske officiating. Interment was at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Howard Moll was born Aug. 5, 1914, on a farm northeast of Winslow in Washington County to Louis and Ida (Schuette) Moll. He grew up in that area. He was baptized, confirmed and married in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, east of Winslow, where he was a lifetime member.

Mr. Moll held numerous offices in the church, and had been a member of the Walther League, and then the Lutheran Laymen’s League for many years.

On Sept. 17, 1939, he married Beth Panning at Immanuel Lutheran.

Mr. Moll was a farmer all his life, until retiring and moving to Fremont in 1994.

He is survived by his wife, Beth, four sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Wanda Moll of Fremont, Ron and Peggy Moll of Merritt Island, Fla., Dale and Sheryl Moll of Hooper, and Alan and Sharene Moll of Beaverton, Ore., 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Elmer and Lois Krohn of Herman, and a sister-in-law, Darleen Moll of Fremont.

He was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Ted Panning, bother, Harlan Moll, and brother-in-law, Clyde Panning.

Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Ludvigsen Mortuary of Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
