Rae Taylor, 70, of Blair, died Saturday, July 28, 2001, at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Rosehill Cemetery, Orum. Visitation will begin 9 a.m. Tuesday, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Lida “Rae” Taylor was born July 10, 1931, at Fort Smith, Ark. to Raymond and Gertrude (Harvey) Slavens. She graduated from Fremont High School in Huntington Park, Calif.

On Dec. 20, 1952, she married James Taylor in California. Along with raising her family, she worked in the daily operation of the Taylor Oil Company. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Republican Women, Memorial Community Hospital Auxiliary and numerous bridge clubs.

She is survived by her husband, James; three children, son, Stephen Taylor of Atlanta, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Laura Taylor of Blair; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Terry Conrad of Blair; five grandchildren; a niece, Raelene Sprague; two grandnephews, and two nephews, Johnny and Ronnie Slavens.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Raymond Slavens.

Memorials are suggested to Rose Hill Cemetery or Dana College.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair is in charge of arrangements.
