RUSSELL TAYLOR, 82

Russell Taylor, 82, of Fremont, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999, at the Fremont Area Medical Center.

Services will be 1:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 27. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 26. Burial will be in the Orum Cemetery.

Russell Taylor was born Oct. 15, 1917, to John and Emma (Anderson) Taylor, on the family farm in the Rose Hill area northwest of Blair. At 12 years old, he was baptized by the St. Paul Minister of Orum. He grew up in Orum, graduating from the 10th grade. He then took a course in sheet metal at Omaha University. He worked at the Martin Bomber Plant near Bellevue.

On April 19, 1944, he married Loraine Lauritsen of Kennard, in Omaha. They lived there a short time, then moved to a farm in the Orum area in January of 1945.

He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Orum and served as a board member and Luther League Leader. He also served on the Orum Cemetery Board for many years.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Bryan Boorugy of Sarasota, Fla.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney and Carol Taylor of Omaha and Jerry and Kathy Taylor of Blair; seven grandchildren, Joyce and David Snow; and Julie and Troy Marshall, all of Omaha; Emily and Erik Taylor of Blair; Paul, Krista, and Erika Boorugy of Sarasota, Fla.; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Maxine Rasmussen of Newbury, Ore.; a brother, John Taylor of Fremont; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Harold, Howard, Clifford and Charlie; and two sisters, Helen Ruwe and Hattie Williamson.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
