Earl F. Wulf, 88, of Blair, died Thursday, July 24, 2014, at Life Care Center in Elkhorn. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 28 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Orum. Burial was in Orum’s Lincoln Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 27, at Campbell Aman Funeral Home.

Earl F. Wulf was born Feb. 26, 1926, to Fred and Annie (Stender) Wulf. He grew up on the family farm 1 mile east of Orum that was purchased by his grandfather, Detlef Wulf, in 1874. Earl was inducted into the U.S. Army in February 1946. He was a member of the 24th Infantry division that was part of the peacekeeping force in occupied Japan after World War II. Returning home in April 1947, he began farming and was an active farmer for 60 years. On June 29, 1952, he was united in marriage to Lucille Madsen at her parents’ home in Herman. They made their home on the farm, northeast of Orum for more than 60 years. He served as a member of the Rose Hill School Board and on the Church Council of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Earl is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lucille; son, Dwain (Diane) Wulf of Omaha; daughters, Joyce Snide of Valley, Linda (Mike) Terry of Omaha, and Crystal Wulf of Bellevue; grandchildren, Melissa Wulf, Marc Wulf, Jonathan Wulf, Lesley Snide, Greg (Jessica) Snide, Caryl Terry, Kristen (Michael) Putthoff and Brendan Wulf; sister-in-law, Alice Madsen of Blair; and his brother-in-law, Darrel (Betty) Madsen, Sr. of Fremont.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters-in-law, Freddie (Bernice) Wulf and Eggert (Olga) Wulf.
