Frances Ellen (Elliott) Stender, 88

Frances Ellen (Elliott) Stender, 88, of Blair, died Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at Crowell Home in Blair. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard. Interment will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Blair Cemetery in Blair. Visitation begins 3 p.m. Thursday with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home.

Frances Ellen Elliott was born March 4, 1926 in Tekamah, to Elizabeth Mae and Peter D. Elliott. She attended schools in Tekamah and Blair.

She was united in marriage to Alton Stender at the United Methodist Church in Blair on Dec. 19, 1948. The couple lived on the family farm south of Blair.

She enjoyed sewing, embroidery and watching reruns of “The Lucille Ball Show.” She was a member of the Kennard Legion Auxiliary and Emmaus Lutheran Church.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Carol and Denny Penry and Sherry and Gene Salsbury, both of Blair; two granddaughters and husbands: Lori and Casey Sadler and Shelli and Mark Janning; two step-grandchildren: Chuck and Jenny Salsbury and Holly Salsbury; four great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and sister-in-law Geraldine Elliott of Denver.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; her brother Ronald and her husband, Alton, of 47 years.

Memorials may be directed to Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard or Crowell Home in Blair.
