Robert “Bas” Dean Trisdale, 63, died Friday, Aug. 1, 2014, in South Dakota as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was surrounded by close friends.

Memorial services are currently pending with Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair in charge of arrangements.

Robert Dean Trisdale was born July 28, 1951, in Blair, to William Smith and Margaret Rose (Stricklett) Trisdale. He was raised in Blair and attended Blair Community Schools.

He worked as a welder at Western Sand and Gravel for 25 years.

On November 14, 1970, he was united in marriage to Cynthia Price in Columbus.

Bas was a talented musician, playing in various bands over the years as a lead guitarist. He enjoyed motorcycles and was an ABATE member of District 5. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Trisdale of Blair; son Cody Trisdale of Blair; daughter Rachel (Kevin) Sloma of Omaha; brother Gary (Kaye) Trisdale of Blair; mother-in-law and father-in-law Maggie (Matt) Beiermann of Fremont; brother-in-law Kelly (Paula) Price of Fremont; Jim (Nancy) Price of Atlanta, Ga.; brother-in-law Bill Price and special friend Lisa of Overland Park, Kan.; and sister-in-law Linda Trisdale of Blair.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Randy Trisdale and niece Carly.

A Blair man died after his motorcycle left S.D. Highway 44 near Farmingdale, S.D., and ended up in a pasture Friday morning.

Robert D. Trisdale, 63, was taken to a Rapid City, S.D., hospital where he died of injuries sustained in the crash. He was wearing a helmet.

According to South Dakota State Patrol reports, Trisdale was eastbound riding a 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle at 9:33 a.m. when the motorcycle veered into the westbound lane near Mile Marker 64 and left the roadway to the north, stopping in the pasture.

No further information was immediately available.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating. The patrol was assisted by the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, New Underwood Fire Department, Rapid City Fire Department and Lifeflight.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Visitation begins at 2 p.m. Thursday with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
