CARL PETERSEN DEAD AT 66

ONETIME BLAIRITE WAS FORMER BUSINESSMAN AT CEDAR BLUFFS

Carl E. Petersen, 66, retired Cedar Bluffs businessman and onetime Blairite, died Friday morning after a sudden heart attack at Cedar Bluffs.

Native of Blair, he was born Sept. 27, 1881, son of the late Niels and Anna Petersen, pioneer Washington countians. He was married to J. Christine Nielsen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.P. Nielsen.

He farmed most of his life. For five years the Petersens lived in Minnesota, then returned to Washington county. More than ten years ago they moved to Cedar Bluffs, where he and a son operated a garage. Later Mr. and Mrs. Petersen had a café there prior to their retirement in 1946.

Surviving Mr. Petersen are his wife, Christine; two sons, Clarence P. of Cleveland, O., and Alfred, Omaha; and three daughters, Mrs. George Boschult of Herman; Mrs. Donald Fleming and Mrs. William Kendrick, both of Cedar Bluffs. Two sons, Carl, Jr., and Harry, preceded him in death.

Also surviving Mr. Petersen are 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. P.K. Andersen of Herman and Mrs. N. Chris Jensen of Omaha; and two brothers, A.P. Petersen of Blair and Niels Petersen of San Bernardino, Calif.
