TELFORD - - - Leslie I., age 81, formerly of Omaha, passed away December 6, 2006 in Bradenton, FL. Les was born in Clawson, MI, December 14, 1924 and graduated from Flint Central High School in Flint, MI. In 1948, he graduated from the University of Michigan. Les spent 3 ½ years in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He then sold insurance for Mutual and United of Omaha until he moved to Omaha in 1953 to work in the company’s home office. After working 38 years for the company, he retired as Executive Vice President in charge of Foreign and Military Affairs. In 1987 he moved to Bradenton, FL but spent part of each year at his lake property near LeShara, NE. He belonged to Masonic Lodge NE # 1 in Omaha and the Omaha Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. Les is preceded in death by his daughter Kimberly Sorrells. Leslie will be sadly missed by his wife of 43 years, Carol; son David Telford and wife Kay; 4 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Stanley Cooke; mother-in –law Gertrude Day.

There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service on Saturday, 2 p.m. at Henry-Livingston Funeral Chapel with Pastor Gary Smith officiating.
