BESSIE EILEEN TALBERT, 69
Services were Monday, February 18 at Crosby Kunold Burket Swanson Golden Mortuary for Bessie Eileen Talbert of Omaha, 69 who died February 14, 1991 at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha after a lingering illness of cancer. Interment was in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Omaha.
Bessie Eileen Talbert was born to Pearl and Mable Shelton of Macedonia, Iowa May 17, 1921.
She married Darwin Stokes. They had three sons, Donald Owen, Ronald Lee and Herbert Raymond; twin daughters, Marion J. and Maxine J. and daughter, Marcia Joan.
She later married Andy R. Talbert. He preceded her in death on November 30, 1985.
She cared for the elderly in nursing homes during her life. She spent the last 13 years, until her retirement at Skyline Manor in Omaha caring for the elderly.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Herbert Raymond Stokes and Ronald Lee Stokes; one sister, Viola Pearl Duncan and one nephew, Donald White.
She is survived by one son, Donald Stokes of Cairo, Nebraska; daughters, Marion Thompson and Maxine Shonka, both of Omaha and Marcia Joan Stokes of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brothers, Donald Howard Shelton of Waterloo, Nebraska and Herbert Raymond Shelton of Kennard; nieces, Mary Lou Kuhl of Omaha and Dawn Renee Duncan of Carter Lake, Iowa; nephews, Herbert P. Shelton, Herman; Donald P. Shelton of Waterloo; G. Herbert Shelton of Omaha; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; special friends, Helen Shelton and Dawn Payne and other neighbors and friends.
Pallbearers were Norm Kuhl, Donald P. Shelton, Joseph White, Herbert P. Shelton, John D. White and G. Herbert Shelton.
