Ella Nelson

Ella Nelson, 92, or Des Moines, Iowa, formerly of Blair, died February 23, 1986, in Des Moines. Services for Mrs. Nelson will be Wednesday, February 26, 11 a.m., at First Lutheran Church in Blair, the Rev. Kurt Sortland officiating. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Mrs. Nelson was born on a farm near Spiker on March 18, 1893, the daughter of Wilhelm and Wilhelmine Flake.

She married Oscar Nelson on May 7, 1919 in Woodbury County, Iowa. They lived in Cedar County, Nebraska, until 1932 when they moved to Washington County.

In the fall of 1974, Mrs. Nelson moved into the Good Shepherd Home in Blair and in 1979 moved to care facilities in Des Moines.

Survivors include one son, Rolland Nelson of Des Moines, his wife, Winifred and five grand-children.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1938, eight sisters and three brothers.

Campbell Funeral Home of Blair is in charge of arrangements.
