Melba Teebken, 94, of Fremont died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010, at A. J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.

She was born Jan. 24, 1916 in Bancroft to Louis and Beulah (Graff) Wullenwaber. She lived in Bancroft until her marriage to Harry Teebken on Aug. 31, 1934.

They made their home in Wisner where Harry was a blacksmith/welder. In 1950, they moved to Bolivar, Mo., where they lived for a brief time. In 1951, the Teebkens moved to Fremont. Harry purchased and operated a blacksmith shop in Arlington until his death in 1977. Melba was a full-time homemaker and loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include: two sons, Richard (and wife, Ruth) Teebken of Fremont and Daniel Teebken of Tacoma, Wash.; sister-in-law, Gertrude Paradies of Valley; nine grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Melba also was preceded in death by her daughter and her son-in-law, Karen and Bob Davis; a sister, Mina Johnson who had lived in Oakland; five brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Feb. 27 at Fremont Alliance Church, 16th Street and Lincoln Avenue, in Fremont with the Rev. Tom Nevius officiating. There is no public visitation. The committal will be later in Wisner Cemetery.
