Services Held On Monday For George Nelson

Funeral services are Monday, October 27, at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church for George Nelson age 90, who died October 24, 1980 at the Blair Hospital. Rev. Kurt Sortland is conducting the services. Burial is in Blair Cemetery.

George Nelson was born on May 9, 1890, in Blair to Soren Peter and Elizabeth Nielsen Nelson. He married Edythe Rile in 1947 and farmed. He later ran a service station in Blair before retiring. The couple lived at 2155 Front Street at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife, Edythe of Blair; and children, Marian Nelson and Irma Christensen, both of Blair. Two step-sons, William Larson, Omaha, and Robert Larson, Pipestone, Minnesota; one brother, Alfred Nelson of Blair; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive him.

Clara Cowing is organist. Homer Nielsen is vocalist for the services.

Pallbearers are Kent Klabunde, Mark Larson, James Wulf, Dick Svendgard, Kelly Ryan, and Bob Ryan. Honorary pallbearers are George Christensen and Robert Christensen.

Campbell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the services.
