Georgia V. Bagby, 87

Georgia V. Bagby, 87, of Blair, formerly of Sidney, died Friday, July 10, 1998, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Services were Monday, July 13, at the First United Methodist Church in Blair with Rev. Nancy Slader officiating. Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, in the Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney.

Georgia Velma Wilson was born Oct. 31, 1910, in a sod house on the family homestead ranch in Arthur County to James and Margaret (Graves) Wilson. She grew up on the ranch along with four brothers and two sisters.

She graduated from Arthur High School and Grand Island Business College.

On Aug. 18, 1932, she married Kenneth Harold Bagby in Alliance. She was a homemaker and served as bookkeeper for the family business, a Texaco service station in Sidney, from 1935 to 1976.

She enjoyed three years of retirement and traveled with her husband until his death on Feb. 22, 1979.

She was active in the Methodist Church all of her life and she was a Worthy Matron of the Easter Star in Sidney.

She moved to Blair in 1991 to be near her only child, Dr. K.C. Bagby and his wife, Carole.

She is also survived by one sister, Dorothy Fisher of Wichita, Kan., and one brother, Charles W. Wilson of Arthur; four grandchildren, David, Richard, Jeffrey and his wife, Melanie, and Kathleen; and two great - grandchildren, Brandon Bagby and Kerstin Bagby.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth on Feb. 22, 1979; her parents; one sister and three brothers.

Memorials are suggested to the Good Shepherd Home in Blair, memorial Community Hospital in Blair, or the first United Methodist Church in Blair or Sidney.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair was in charge of arrangements.
