Funeral services were Saturday, February 24 at Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel for Vernon Bahner, 83 of Nickerson who died February 21, 1990 at Arbor Manor. Rev. Dr. Thomas Martin officiated. Burial was in Ridge Cemetery.

Vernon Bahner was born December 14, 1906 in Nickerson. Except for the brief time he lived in Washington County and in Colorado, he was a lifetime resident of the Nickerson area. He farmed until his retirement.

He was a longtime member of the Nickerson Methodist Church and its Methodist Men’s Group. After the closing of the church, he was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fremont.

He married Luella Diedrichs March 14, 1928.
