Wilmeth M. Monke, 87

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 28 at Salem Lutheran Church in Fontanelle for Wilmeth M. Monke, 87, of Fremont, who died at her home Jan. 25, 1995. Rev. Robert Kocher will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Fontanelle.

Wilmeth Williams Monke was born on a farm east of Winslow, Neb. on July 17, 1907. She lived on a farm north of Fontanelle from 1929 to 1981 when she moved into Fremont. She attended Fremont Normal College and taught rural schools in Dodge County and at Fontanelle until her marriage in 1929.

She married Luther Monke on January 17, 1929.

She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Fontanelle. She taught Sunday School and was an active member of the Lutheran Church Women for many years. She was a member of the Pleasant Hour Club of Telbasta and the Sarepta Chapter #48 Order of Eastern Star in Arlington.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters and a brother.

Survivors include sons, William and Robert of Fremont; daughters Muriel Ringle of Fremont and Ruth Teebken of Nickerson; sisters Verna Krieg, Golda Wilkening and Nina Anderson, all of Fremont; 15 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.
